The clean-up crews have worked their collective tails off all week, and the site of the August 19 MBY fire is nearly cleaned up.

Owner Dave Kaiser is telling us they hope to be back to pumping fuel and providing essential boatyard services next week.
Despite the optimism these guys are showing, you can see the stark reality they’re facing in their eyes. They are committed to rebuilding this Mattapoisett landmark, but I don’t think they can do it without our help – so I’m asking you to chip in (once again).
The Fundraising Drive
As of this writing, you all have contributed over $65,000 to the Mattapoisett Boat Yard and Victim’s GoFundMe page.
These funds have been invaluable to the workers who lost their cars, tools, and other personal belongings. I think we’ve got them covered, at least financially.
But there is still a lot of money required to bring our beloved boatyard back to glory. And with this in mind, we’re launching MBY STRONG to make this happen.

As you can see, there are three ways to support the rebuilding effort. In the coming weeks, we’ll be making the rounds of soliciting donations for the silent auction, selling tickets to the event, and continuing to ask people to donate to the GoFundMe page.
As things continue to progress, I’ll be reporting details on the event and showcasing the generosity of the community as donations come in.
Please know that every donation is treasured, and no donation is too small.
Thanks for everything – the Kaiser Family is grateful beyond words ❤️
